Biological Impacts of Banning Lead Sinkers

Mortality in some waterfowl species has been linked to ingestion of lead fishing sinkers and has prompted several states to impose bans on the sale or use of lead sinkers.

The American Sportfishing Association and the Canadian Sportfishing Industry Association each published a report disputing the scientific evidence used to advocate banning lead sinkers in fishing.
