Did you know?

  • Sportsmen could fill every NFL and Major League Baseball Stadium, as well as every NASCAR track 6 times over.

  • If Sportsmen were a corporation, they would rank #11 on the Fortune 500 list, above Home Depot™ and AT&T™.

  • Sportsmen support more jobs than Wal-Mart™ - the country’s largest employer.

While hunting and fishing garner widespread attention as traditional activities, they get little recognition as a major economic force. Too often, when fiscal belts get tightened, the federal and state governments look first to fish and wildlife conservation and management funds to fill other budget gaps. But recognizing how important hunting and fishing are to the economy may make elected officials take a closer look before diverting critical natural resource funding away from these essential programs.
