CSF Celebrates 20 Years of Vision & Accomplishment At Annual Banquet

October 9, 2009 (Washington, DC) - More than 50 members of Congress, and over 500 fellow sportsmen, including government officials, congressional staff and outdoor industry representatives celebrated the 20th Anniversary of the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation at its annual banquet and auction Wednesday night.
The CSF 20th Anniversary Banquet & Auction provided an opportunity for the outdoor community to recognize the tremendous growth and the litany of legislative accomplishments that CSF and the Congressional Sportsmen's Caucus have achieved. Members of Congress were able to meet with the leaders of the hunting and fishing community to be acknowledged for their efforts on legislation directly impacting sportsmen.
"This year's banquet is sort of the culmination of a yearlong celebration of our 20th Anniversary," said CSF President Jeff Crane. "We were able to recognize and thank everyone who has contributed to the 20 year success of the organization including current and former Caucus members and all those who have contributed to our cause."
"It has been an honor to serve on the CSF Board for a number of years now to witness the growth and accomplishment," said CSF Board of Directors Chairman Tom Baker. "I am especially grateful to have served the sportsmen's community in this role during the 20th Anniversary year."
Four of the founding members of the Congressional Sportsmen's Caucus, members of the current Caucus, and longtime supporters of the Caucus and CSF were honored at the banquet.
"It was wonderful to be able to visit with and recognize publicly my founding Caucus leadership colleagues and also see firsthand the tremendous growth of the Foundation and Caucus," said former CSC member and current CSF Board member, Congressman Lindsay Thomas.
"This was a very special event and I am honored to have been invited back to witness the tremendous growth of this Caucus and Foundation since we founded it in 1989," said founding Caucus member, Congressman Dick Schultze.
Thanks to the support of a large group of CSF donors, the 20th Anniversary auction, including silent and live auctions and a raffle, was one the largest ever and included such items as: guided hunting and fishing trips, vacation getaways, numerous rifles, shotguns and pistols, and luxurious fur coats.
