CSF Teams With NASCAR Legend Richard Childress

October 16, 2009 (Washington, DC) - The Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation and NASCAR legend Richard Childress celebrated America's outdoor traditions at the annual "Wine, Wheels & Wildlife" event Wednesday at Childress Vineyards in Lexington, North Carolina.
The event served as a platform to bring NASCAR and sportsmen together to celebrate 20 years of CSF leadership in securing an effective voice for sportsmen in Washington, DC, in the halls of state government through the National Assembly of Sportsmen's Caucuses and the Governors Sportsmen's Caucus, and with other private and public sector organizations supporting sportsmen's rights.
"America's hunters and anglers are NASCAR fans. When they are not watching or attending a race, they are outdoors," said Childress. "It gives me great pleasure to be able to combine three of my favorite passions to champion a worthy cause. For 20 years now, CSF and the legislators' active in sportsmen's caucuses remain our true champions in promoting sportsmen's issues in the political arena."
Celebrating NASCAR, hunting and fishing, supporters of CSF came from across the country to enjoy an evening of outdoor activities including archery, casting, wildlife calling and skeet shooting. Supporters also enjoyed a dinner and a live auction.
"We are honored, especially during this 20th Anniversary year, to be joined by a true legend in Richard Childress by pairing our shared interests of racing and wildlife," said CSF President Jeff Crane. "Thousands of sportsmen we work for also spend many of their non-hunting and fishing weekends at the speedway, what better way to celebrate this partnership than through this event."
