CSF State Program Team Continues Expansion
October 20, 2011 (Washington, DC) – The Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) State Program expanded its reach once again this week with the addition of the fourth member of the team, Andy Treharne, who will manage the western region.
The CSF State Program team facilitates the interaction and information exchange among the nearly 2,000 state legislators united under the National Assembly of Sportsmen’s Caucuses (NASC) and the 22 Governors of the Governors Sportsmen’s Caucus (GSC) in support of legislation and regulations that support our outdoor heritage.
“As we continue to expand our network of state sportsmen’s caucuses, and taking into account that conservation related issues and policies vary greatly for the different regions of the country, our CSF geographic expansion will enable us to provide more individualized attention to our affiliated state caucuses, governors, legislative staff, and the various state natural resource agencies,” said CSF President Jeff Crane.
Treharne (BIO) joins CSF to compliment and expand the existing relationships in the western region that the CSF State Program has developed since its inception in 2004. Andy will work with the western state caucuses as part of the CSF plan to geographically expand the reach and scope of the NASC and the GSC to further the policy priorities of the hunting, angling and trapping communities.
“CSF and the State Program has a proven track record of working alongside elected officials, including the NASC legislators, in protecting America's hunting and fishing heritage,” said NASC Executive Council President Rep. Mike Pitts of South Carolina. “The State Program staff is fully equipped to further grow the State Program to ensure that sportsmen are properly represented in the halls of state government.”
The CSF State Program now includes four full-time managers and directors who work alongside the 39 state sportsmen’s caucuses affiliated with the NASC program and the GSC Governors to champion important conservation and fish and wildlife management issues.
The CSF State Program includes: Jennifer Lundy (BIO), Southeastern States Director; Chris Horton (BIO), Midwestern States Director; Brent Miller (BIO), Northeastern States Manager; and Andy Treharne, Western States Manager.
