National Assembly of Sportsmen’s Caucuses Elects Executive Council
December 17, 2010 (Washington, DC) - Members of the National Assembly of Sportsmen’s Caucuses (NASC) elected members of the 2011-213 Executive Council last week during the Seventh Annual NASC Sportsman-Legislator Summit in Point Clear, Alabama.
Re-elected to the Council were: Rep. Candy Ezell of New Mexico, Rep. Marc Gergely of Pennsylvania, Rep. Brandon Phelps of Illinois, Rep. Mike Pitts of South Carolina, and Sen. Robin Webb of Kentucky.
“The NASC Executive Council provides vital assistance to the state caucuses, arming them to make a big difference at the state level on a variety of issues,” said CSF States Director Bethany O’Donovan.
New members elected to serve are Rep. Gary Hayzlett of Kansas, Sen. Bill Heath of Georgia, Rep. Jerry Weiers of Arizona and alternates were Rep. Craig Miner of Connecticut and Rep. Randy Stewart of Arkansas.
Rep. Pitts was re-elected to his second term as President of the NASC Executive Council. Sen. Webb was selected as Vice-President and Rep. Phelps as Secretary.
“I look forward to the next two years of assisting my fellow legislators in educating and assisting them on issues that are important to their sporting constituents and protect sportsmen’s interests through advancing pro-sportsmen issues and protecting against attacks from the anti-hunting and fishing community,” said Pitts.
The NASC Executive Council provides advice and counsel to the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation and its state program, the NASC. The Executive Council assists with the establishment and promotion of pro-sportsmen ideas as well as facilitates sharing information between state caucuses, conservation partners and allied industries, and ensures NASC provides services to the 38 individual state caucuses.
