CSF Board Member Phil Morlock Awarded Rowse Leadership Award
December 16, 2010 (Washington, DC) – Phil Morlock, member of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation Board of Directors and Director of Environmental Affairs for Shimano, received the Brad Rowse Leadership Award last week at the Seventh Annual National Assembly of Sportsmen’s Caucuses Sportsman-Legislator Summit in Point Clear, Alabama.
“To be awarded this very special honor by my colleagues at CSF is very humbling,” said Morlock. “Brad was my friend and a special person who realized from the beginning the potential that NASC had. What the organization has become today is a direct result of his dedicated efforts and I am sure he would be very pleased to see what continues to be accomplished here. I am very proud of Brad. ”
The Brad Rowse Leadership Award is given in honor of the former State Caucus Manager of the National Assembly of Sportsmen’s Caucuses who, as a rising star in the sportsmen and conservation community, passed away at age 26 in December 2004. The Brad Rowse Leadership Award is not awarded annually and Morlock is only the fourth recipient of the award.
The award is bestowed upon an individual who has demonstrated excellence in leadership in promoting the mission of the National Assembly of Sportsmen’s Caucuses and promoting the sportsmen’s agenda in the halls of state government.
“Phil Morlock has served with distinction on the CSF Board for many years and is a trusted advisor and friend,” said CSF President Jeff Crane. “No one deserves this award more and no one works harder than Phil to help continue the growth and mission of this organization.”
