PAYING TRIBUTE TO AMERICA’S TRADITIONS OF HUNTING AND FISHING
September 1, 2011 (Washington, DC) – The Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) will hold its 22nd Annual Banquet & Auction themed “"American Traditions: Supporting our Fish and Wildlife Resources Today" on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at the Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill, 400 New Jersey Avenue, NW in Washington, DC.
A 5:30 pm reception, raffle and silent auction will kick-off the evening with the dinner and live auction beginning at 7:15 pm. This year’s event is hosted by Amgen, Anheuser-Busch, ATK, Cabela’s, Cox Enterprises, Dallas Safari Club, Diageo, Ford Motor Company, Intermedia Outdoors, National Shooting Sports Foundation, Natural Resource Results, North American Deer Farmers Association, Outdoor Channel, Richard Childress Racing, Safari Club International, Shimano, Sportsman Channel, Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America and Yamaha Motor Corporation USA.
“With support from the leading hunting and fishing industry companies and organizations for this event, members of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus are better able to understand the importance of America’s outdoor traditions,” said CSF President Jeff Crane.
This year’s event will provide a forum for sportsmen and wildlife enthusiasts to gather and discuss current legislative issues and celebrate the strides CSF and the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus have made in supporting America’s fish and wildlife resources.
“In Montana, hunting and fishing contribute to a $2.5 billion industry, and they’re a strong part of our heritage,” said Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT), Senate Co-Chair of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus. “Bringing together sportsmen and women to discuss smart, common-sense ideas is the best way to improve access to public lands, expand opportunities to hunt and fish, and responsibly manage the land, water and clean air we rely on.”
“Outdoor activities like hunting and fishing are an important part of our heritage and way of life,” said Rep. Jeff Miller (R-FL), Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus House Co-Chair. “I feel it is important to preserve these traditions and promote them to the next generation of outdoorsmen at every opportunity, especially in our nation’s capital.”
The 2011 auction will include silent and live auctions and a raffle featuring such items as: guided hunting and fishing trips, vacation getaways, numerous rifles, shotguns and pistols, and luxurious fur coats.
