House and Senate Also Pass 2 Year Moratorium on Fishing Vessel Permitting
CSF and the fishing and boating community hailed the passage of the Clean Boating Act on July 22. The President signed the Clean Boating Act into law on July 30. The legislation provides relief from a court ruling which would have instituted a complicated permitting process under rules established by the Environmental Protection Agency. A September 30 deadline for the permitting process to begin has now been avoided.
Now, America's 18-million recreational boaters and anglers no longer have to worry about applying for a federal permit for incidental water discharge such as emptying their livewells and rainwater runoff.
