POMA Hails Wildlife Policy Conference

North American Wildlife Policy Conference Slated for Reno, NV - October 2-3

The Professional Outdoor Media Association (POMA) welcomed Jeff Crane, President of the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation to speak to the assembled professional outdoors communicators at their recent Business Conference in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Crane spoke about the importance of the upcoming North American Wildlife Policy Conference and its potential to chart the future course for wildlife management, hunting and conservation.  The conference was called for by the President's Executive Order on hunting issued in August of 2007.

Veteran communicators and industry leaders who have worked with CSF in the past enjoyed catching up on the issues facing sportsmen. Several writers had questions about the Conference and the role of the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation as it works with Congress and the state legislatures across the country.

"Getting the message to sportsmen that they have an ally in Washington where decisions are made on many issues from access to public lands to funding for conservation programs has never been more important," said Jeff Crane. "The members of POMA are the vital link in getting that message across in print, broadcast and online media.  We applaud their dedication to their craft."

Jim Zumbo, renowned firearms and hunting writer said, "The story that needs to be told and retold is about the dedication of the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation. Their work in advancing issues that are important to gun owners, hunters and anglers in the halls of Congress and the state legislatures goes largely overlooked by the everyday sportsman. Washington D.C. is sometimes a hostile environment but CSF cuts through the partisanship and scores many legislative victories for the hunting and fishing community."
