Caucus Makes Major Legislative Strides for Sportsmen
106th Congress Legislative Wrap-Up

The 106th Congress was very successful for conservation and sportsmen. At the same time, anti-hunters had little success advancing their agenda and actually lost ground this year. The Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus played an important role in these gains. A great deal of this is the direct result of the organizational improvements made by the Caucus this year, including weekly leadership meetings and a Whip Structure.

Following are issues that the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation and Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus worked on in the 106th Congress.

Pittman-Robertson/Dingell-Johnson Reform

Conservation Reinvestment Act (CARA)

Sportsmen's Caucus Urges Conservation Funding

Wetlands Reserve Program (WRP)

Wildlife Services

North American Wetlands Conservation Act (NAWCA)

Gamebird Production and Wildlife Restoration Research

The Wildlife and Sportfish Restoration Programs Improvement Act of 2000
