(11/22/04) Conservation Groups Urge White House on Political Appointees - The CSF helped to coordinate a letter from 42 leading conservation organizations to senior advisors to the President urging them to select political appointees that share a strong conservation ideology.

(11/5/04) America's Sportsmen - Answering the Call on Election Day - As the 2004 election drama wound down, there was only one clear message that all candidates up for election could take away - the time and effort to cultivate and support sportsmen was well worth the effort. Climbing out of tree stands and off the water to stand in line to vote, America's sportsmen made their voices heard.

(10/29/04) Fulfilling the Promise of the Sportsmen's Vote - Election Day is November 2. It's up to you to get out and vote to make sure our elected officials represent the interests of sportsmen!

Sportsmen Hunt, Fish and VOTE! - Polling of hunters and anglers in three swing states suggests some 80% will vote in this year's election. The campaigns of both President Bush and Senator Kerry have placed a high priority on winning the sportsmen's vote during this campaign, but hunters and anglers may play an even greater role in the election than either camp had predicted, based on the findings of a survey released on October 14 by the bipartisan Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation (CSF).

Bush Signs Executive Order Calling for first Partnership Conference on Wildlife Conservation in More than 90 Years - At an August 26 press conference to announce increased support for cooperative conservation programs, Secretary of the Interior Gale Norton carried an Executive Order from President George W. Bush calling for a President's Partnership Conference on Wildlife Conservation.

(8/5/04) President Announces Support For Farm Conservation Programs - At an August 4th event in LeSueur, Minnesota and flanked by sportsmen's organizations and members of the Congressional Sportsmen's Caucus, President Bush announced new efforts to strengthen the highly successful Conservation Reserve Program (CRP).

(8/2/04) Waterfowl Seasons Similar to Last Year - On July 30 2004, the U.S Fish and Wildlife Service announced their proposed waterfowl hunting regulations for the 2004-2005 season.

(7/14/04) Forest Service Releases New Regulations on Roadless Areas - On July 12, the Secretary of Agriculture, Ann M. Veneman, announced a proposed policy for inventoried roadless areas on public lands managed by the USDA Forest Service.

(6/25/04) CSF Helps Partners Deliver Testimony on Ag and Forestry Issues - In the past two weeks, the CSF has been instrumental in working with our conservation partners to provide testimony to Congress

(4/9/04) Sportsmen Meet with President in Texas - The white 4-wheel drive pickup pulled to a stop and the most famous rancher in Crawford, Texas climbed out. His casual "hey, how ya'll doing?" welcomed the assembled representatives from leading hunting and fishing conservation organizations to his home.


(3/5/04) CSC Leadership Urges State Agencies to Extend Reservists' Hunting Licenses - The Congressional Sportsmen's Caucus leadership sent a letter to their colleagues in the House and Senate asking them to work with their state fish and wildlife agencies to offer a free hunting and fishing license extension to members of the military who have been called to active duty.

(2/3/04) Sportsmen Write to President Bush - Top sportsmen’s organizations, including the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation, sent a letter to President George W. Bush thanking him for meeting with them in late December.

Bush.
