CSF Hires New Director of Policy and Programs
Current Director, Matt Hogan, Appointed as Deputy Director of US Fish and Wildlife Service

The Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation is pleased to announce that Jeff Crane will become the new Director of Policy and Programs beginning on July 22. Jeff joins the Foundation with experience in on-the-ground natural resource management, as well as a policy background at both the federal and state level. Jeff spent five years working in Congress as both committee and personal staff. In addition he has experience developing wildlife habitat management plans in the United States and South Africa. Most recently Jeff was instrumental in establishing the Maryland Legislative Sportsmen's Caucus and Foundation. In this capacity he served as a liaison for the state caucus, providing strategy and policy briefings on sportsmen's issues being addressed by the state legislature.

Matt Hogan, who has served as the Director of Conservation Policy for CSF for four years, was appointed by Department of the Interior Secretary Gale Norton as the Deputy Director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and will be leaving the Foundation on July 26th. Matt has played a leadership role in increasing the value of the Caucus to the hunting and fishing community and increasing the Foundation's role to serve as a facilitator and conduit to the U.S. Congress

"CSF is fortunate to have Jeff joining our team and we expect a seamless transition as Matt moves on," commented CSF Executive Director Melinda Gable. "I know I speak for the entire staff and board in congratulating Matt on his new career and am delighted that the Fish and Wildlife Service has appointed someone who truly works on behalf of all American sportsmen."

Established in 1989, the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation works on behalf of current and future generations of Americans to protect the right and increase the opportunity to hunt, fish and trap by serving as the sportsmen's link to Congress. CSF serves as the conduit between sportsmen, wildlife conservation organizations and the Congressional Sportsmen's Caucus (CSC), a bi-partisan caucus that supports wildlife conservation, professional wildlife management, hunting and fishing. CSF provides the CSC with substantive and factual information so that they can make informed policy decisions towards conserving and managing the nation's fish and wildlife resources.
