Boone & Crockett Club Honors President Bush
|
|
At a White House meeting this week, the Boone and Crockett Club presented President George Bush with an award for his conservation efforts on his ranch in Crawford, Texas. The club’s past president and current CSF Board Member Bob Model and CSF President Jeff Crane, a professional member of the Boone and Crockett Club, along with Caucus member Rep. Don Young (R-AK) and several others presented the award. During the meeting, the group discussed the importance of the North American Wildlife Conservation Model and how to strengthen it in order to ensure a strong and healthy hunting and wildlife future. Points of concern included the shrinking number of acres available for hunting, finding permanent funding for state fish and wildlife agencies and recruiting younger generations of Americans into the field. The President emphasized his willingness to work with the hunting and conservation community to focus on these issues through the end of his Administration.
