Rep. Webb Represents Sportsmen and Women On NASC Executive Council
(Clinton, SC): Recently, Representative Robin Webb met with state legislators from around the country to discuss issues that impact hunters and anglers at the state and national level. As a member of the Kentucky Sportsmen's Caucus, Representative Webb met with legislators from more than 20 states at the National Assembly of Sportsmen's Caucuses 5th Annual Sportsman-Legislator Summit to provide input on issues ranging from public and private land access, recruitment, funding for fish and wildlife agencies and ensuring healthy fish and wildlife habitats. She was also selected once again by her peers to sit on the Executive Council of the National Assembly of Sportsmen's Caucuses.
The Kentucky Sportsmen's Caucus works with the National Assembly of Sportsmen's Caucuses, a network of 35 state sportsmen's caucuses in state houses across the country with a membership of nearly 2,500 state lawmakers.
While attending the NASC Annual Meeting in Clinton, South Carolina, Representative Webb had the opportunity to learn about legislative solutions being introduced around the nation to benefit wildlife, hunting and fishing, as well as national issues that will be considered in the U.S. Congress next year. Discussions at this year's summit included new ways for sportsmen's groups to work with sportsmen's caucuses, trends and attitudes from the public on hunting and fishing, angling access issues, recent anti-hunting issues, and successful state programs to engage youth in hunting and shooting sports.
"This opportunity to meet with legislators from other states gave me plenty of ideas that can be implemented here in Kentucky. I am looking forward to taking what I learned at the Summit and discussing it with my colleagues and local organizations to address the needs of sportsmen here at home," said Representative Webb.
Jeff Crane, President of the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation, said, "Broad participation by sportsmen's caucuses is key to success and I commend Representative Webb for bringing the views of Kentucky's sportsmen to the table."
