Kentucky Lawmakers Legalize Bear Hunting
in
The Kentucky legislature approved a rule change to allow a two day bear hunt this year in the month of December for three counties in eastern Kentucky with a total harvest limit of 10 bears.
Human interaction with bears have become hazardous as bears have come in contact with tourists, raided garbage cans, and in one case attacked a deer hunter in the field according to several wildlife officers.
Animal rights groups such as the Humane Society of America opposed the rule and reports that Kentucky is now one of 28 states that allow bear hunting.
