The 2009 Kansas Sportsmen's Caucus Capitol Classic Invitation Fishing tournament was the Third Annual event and was held at Milford Lake in Junction City, Kansas. The Sporting Clays Shoot was held at the Ravenwood Hunting Preserve in Topeka.
On March 25, 2008, Kansas lawmakers formed the Legislative Sportsmen's Caucus. The Caucus became state number 35 to work with the National Assembly of Sportsmen's Caucuses (NASC). The Sunflower State's 425,000 hunters and anglers spend $607-million annually and support 11,400 jobs.
