Connecticut Legislative Sportsmen's Caucus

In Mid-October 2003, Connecticut lawmakers formed their sportsmen's caucus. CSF, along with the Hunting and Shooting Sports Heritage Foundation sponsored a Connecticut Sportsman-Legislator Summit.

Nearly 20 state legislators unanimously echoed Rep.Kenneth Del Gobo's recommendation to establish a sportsmen's caucus. State Rep. Arthur O'Neill and Rep. Linda Orange were voted as co-chairs in the Connecticut House of Representatives and Sen. Bill Aniskovich was named co-chair in the Senate.

"I am extremely pleased to see the creation of this Sportsmen's Caucus in our state legislature and I am excited about its potential to provide a unified leadership voice for sportsmen's issues in our state," said Rep.Arthur O'Neill. "I look forward to helping build this caucus into one of the most effective in the nation. Our state, our sportsmen and our natural resources deserve nothing less."

The Constitution State has 297,000 hunters and anglers who spend $339-million annually and support 5,500 jobs.
