Arizona Legislators For Wildlife
In April of 2007, two dozen Arizona lawmakers pledged to become Legislators for Wildlife with more than 100 sportsmen on hand at the Glendale Cabela's store. The focus of the legislative group is to serve as an identified group of allies willing to stand up for the rights of sportsmen when pertinent legislation is introduced. Legislators for Wildlife can be counted on to be proactive in protecting the outdoor heritage important to the state's residents and economy.
"Legislators for Wildlife was created to build coalitions, strengthen opportunities and enhance outdoor activities throughout Arizona." Representative Jerry Weiers (R-Glendale).
The Grand Canyon State boasts more than 418,000 hunters and anglers who spend $1.3 billion annually pursuing outdoor activities and support 21,000 jobs.
